The Lizard

The lizard crawls from place to place
A look of content across his face
The little one knows where he is going
If he is stressing, there is no showing
Oh, creature, creature who is under me
How I envy you with all that I am

I walk from place to place
With a look of content across my face
I for one, do not know where I ought to go
If I am stressing, I think it ought to show

I long to laze without a care in the world
Soaking in sun, moon and the stars
Surely my humanity is a mistake
This body does not suit me well
Bound up in these chains of flesh
Would someone please help me
Take me back to my mothers womb
I will not put up a fight for you

I'm lost with advice
I'm done being right
Little more than a voice in the wind
A passing thought for me, maybe
I go back into the ground of which I came
Back to dust, back to dust

The lizard crawls from place to place
A look of content across his face
The little one knows where he is going
If he is stressing, there is no showing
Nobody notices, nobody cares
Just as I, just as he
Back to dust, back to dust.

  2. Thank you.

Spaceface? Am I the witness to the birth of a new nickname for me? Hmmm
